We Offer Lumenis Optilgiht IPL
At Lakefront Eyecare, Dr. Dugan, a dry eye specialist, offers OptiLight by Lumenis, the first and only IPL (intense pulsed light) technology FDA-approved for the management of dry eye disease associated with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). MGD is a chronic, progressive condition in which obstruction and inflammation of the meibomian glands lead to an unstable tear film and increased tear evaporation. This evaporative dry eye process commonly results in burning, foreign body sensation, fluctuating vision, contact lens intolerance, and ocular surface inflammation.
OptiLight utilizes targeted light pulses applied to the periocular skin to address the inflammatory component of MGD. Clinical benefits include:
